Moving to the country

A guide on how to emigrate

Step one: Decide to leave your country for a reason (eg, too hard to find work, too dangerous to live in, you are likely to be killed, terrible living conditions etc)

Step two: Find a new country to move to, preferably one you would enjoy living in more than your current home.

Step three: Apply to emigrate.

Step four: If you're lucky, you get given the chance to move to your chosen destination.

Step five: Pay for your flights and transport costs, probably in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Step six: Find a place to live in your new country/find a source of income in your new country

Step seven: Start a terrorist cell bent on killing people in your new country and destroying its way of life.

Step eight: Become part of the community, including finding a place to send your children to school.

Step nine: Begin to settle into your new country, enjoying the benefits it brings, paying homage to your heritage, while still remembering the reasons you left your old home in the first place.

Step 10: Enjoy life.

STOP: One of those steps is NOT necessary. Can you tell me which one? Which step, after all the trouble you've gone to to move to another country, is probably a little bit out of step with the rest of them? Take your time - it might not be the one you think.

The terror trial in Victoria is over, which is good. They were talking about suicide-bombing an AFL match! And train stations, the West Gate Bridge. Get your hand off it Daryl! Thankfully the Vic police caught them.
