That perfect day
A dark-haired boy with the world on his shoulder
Writing his stories deep into the night
A dark-haired beauty with soft heart alight
Fighting the winter turning it colder.
A chance encounter and they grew bolder
Shining eyes and hearts ignite
His first instinct - must run, to flight!
Her plea was to be older.
One summer's day the beach was beautiful
The warm waves lapped at the sand.
The paintings in the hidden hollow
A picnic on the grass, visit the waterfall
View from the lookout; nothing was planned
A day of joy, with many more to follow.
That's an Italian sonnet, bitches! Note the a-b-b-a rhyme scheme for the first two stanzas and the c-d-e-c-d-e for the final six lines. The Volta (the last six lines) has a different tone to the first eight lines. Oh yes, I did actually learn something in English Lit. I didn't bother to try get it in Iambic Pentameter cos I'm not that pro. But hopefully it flows okay. There you go Mak :)
