Hi guys,
You've been talking up Hauritz like he was a world-beating spinner who had the English team twisted in knots. Have we forgotten how his wickets were taken? And how little he spins the ball? And how he has been rated within Australian cricket for a number of years? No doubt, Hauritz has performed above his level this tour.
But it is no coincidence that our best bowling performance, our most dominant win, and our most telling psychological blows all came when Stuart Clark was brought into the team at Hauritz's expense. The selectors would have been ripped to shreds if they picked Hauritz over the man who helped get the best out of Siddle and Johnson.
And one last point, I'm a Tasmanian, so I might be biased, but Hilfenhaus for player of the series??? No other bowler comes close, Clarke has done well with the bat, so has North. Unfortunately I think Flintoff's two good spells will see him get a knighthood and win the best player award.
cheers,
Angus
The Final Test has started. A win would be amazing. A draw would be acceptable. I cannot countenance a loss.
