I bought this dress in chocolate/cream in a small a few days ago and decided to return it. I'm 5'6 and the small was still big on me and pretty shapeless, though it hit above the knee. I'd say the small is close to a size 6 at Banana Republic (closer to a 6 1/2 if that size were possible) The fabric was a thick polyester, which was okay and kind of reminded me of the polyester suits from the 80s, except that somehow, the dress overall looked cheap (I think the buttons looked the cheapest, though the white, multi-layered, polyester trim looked super thick, especially at the seams). I would never wear this to the office, I doubt I'd even wear this out
