Paper Chaserr

I've been meaning to post about T.I. for a while.

From listening to Paper Trail a lot I've actually picked up some respect for T.I. as a man. He has been through a lot. From facing years and years in jail over weapons charges to losing a daughter in a late-term miscarriage, T.I.
I lost my partner and my daughter in the same year
Somehow I rise above my problems and remain here

Yeah, and I hope the picture painted clear

If your heart filled with faith then you can't fear

Wonder how I face years and I'm still chillin?

Easy, let go and let God deal with it (Ay!!)

- No Matter What

Rhymes about guns, violence and drugs are absent. Instead T.I. concentrates on leaving behind his old ways of doing things and focuses on what's really important.

No more stress, now I'm straight, now I get it, now I take
Time to think before I make, mistakes just for my family’s sake

That part of me left yesterday, the heart of me is strong today

No regrets I'm blessed to say, the old me dead and gone away.
- Dead and Gone T.I. also has a go at a couple of rappers who got stuck into him, but without resorting to violent themes or petty attacks.

I got love for the game but hey I’m not in love with all of it

I do without the fame and the rappers nowadays are comedy

The hootin’ and the hollerin’, back and forth with the arguing

'Where you from, who you know, what you make and what kind of car you in?'

Seems as though you lost sight of whats important when depositing

The checks into your bank account, and you’re up outta poverty
Your values is in disarray, prioritising horribly

Unhappy with your riches cause you piss-poor morally

Ignoring all prior advice and forewarning

And we're mighty full of ourselves all of a sudden aren’t we?

- Live Your Life

So I can happily recommend Paper Trail to anyone looking for something new. T.I. isn't famous here, but he's huge in America.

Searching for lyrics on the internet is ridiculous. Especially rap lyrics. The phrase "pis-pone morally" appeared on the top three lyric sites I went to for Live Your Life. I rewrote half of the verse I quoted for that song because it was so, so wrong. "You're about poverted"??? What the hell does that even mean. The problem is that one site gets some lyrics from an illiterate 14-year-old and then every other site in existence copies them. Stupid.
