The internet is still slow, so I'm struggling to even send emails. How did we deal with this back in the day?
Who remembers?
1) Making sure your sister wasn't on the phone and telling everyone in the house not to pick up the handset in case it caused your connection to time out.
2) Waiting for Netscape Navigator to load up properly, and watching the little wheel symbol.
3) Having to have Real Player installed to watch some of the grainiest video you've ever imagined.
4) Having to download a huge 1Mb attachment and silently cursing whoever sent it to you.
5) When you first discovered Google (and how much better it was than Yahoo and Ask Jeeves)
6) Downloading a 5Mb song took close to an hour, depending on your speed.
7) Going to a website with embedded songs or videos caused your entire system to slow to a crawl.
8) When sites like Lycos and Altavista actually existed.
Anyone else got any memories of the good old days of the internet?
