Five things I will miss about The Wire
Omar
The gay standoverman who lived by a code. No one could handle Omar. A tough dude with a shotgun, braids, and a love for younger Latino men.
Bunk Moreland (aka The Bunk)
The sharpest dressing detective in Baltimore. Also an honest one. He is good po-lice.
The tiny details
From tiny mentions of dead characters that tie up loose ends, to throwaway characters who turn up later to play parts in the drama. This was a show for an intelligent viewer.
Stringer Bell and the Barksdale empire
The cold-hearted killer who only wanted to be a businessman. He did the best with what he had.
The slow camera pull back as the credit music signals the end of another episode
They always left you wanting more.
Yep, I finished season five today. It's sad that something I've really enjoyed has finished. I think, however, that I will go back and watch a few episodes from older seasons when I get the chance.
A quick random fact: Cheese, Prop Joe's nephew, was played by Method Man! I did not realise that until today.
