Viva la 2008

My Songs of the Year

Kings of Leon - "Sex on Fire". Along with the whole Kings of Leon album, this was a great track.

T.I. - "Live Your Life (feat. Rihanna)". The King sold 1.5million albums in America 2008, and Paper Trail was packed with top songs. This one, produced by Just Blaze, sampled the 'Numa Numa' song brilliantly.

Estelle - "American Boy (feat. Kanye West)". Soooo catchy. English singer Estelle rolls her vocals over the beat while Kanye is at his perky best.

Kanye West - "Paranoid". One of the only songs on 808s and Heartbreak that Kanye actually raps on, this song has a fast, catchy beat and a singalong chorus.

Coldplay - "Viva la Vida". A powerful, different style of track from Coldplay. A tale of lost glory.

Lil Wayne - "Mrs Officer (feat. Bobby Valentino)". There could have been so many Lil Wayne tracks on this list, but I like Mrs Officer for the gentle style and Weezy's laidback description of hooking up with a hot cop who pulled him over.

Game - "My Life (feat. Lil Wayne)". A slower song than Game is used to, it's my favourite off LAX.

Rihanna - "Disturbia". 2008 was a big year for Rihanna. This song had a Michael Jackson-esque feel, with a bit of a 'Thriller' theme.

Anyone else got tracks they enjoyed this year?
