Warren Beatty, Alexis Phifer, and Adam Levine's ex-girlfriend. What do they have in common? They all know what it's like to have a breakup song or album written about them.
You're So Vain - Carly Simon
Sample lyric:
You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive/Well you said that we made such a pretty pair/And that you would never leave/But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me/I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee/Clouds in my coffee, and... (You're So Vain)
808 and Heartbreaks - Kanye West
Sample lyrics:
People will talk/Like its old news/I played it off and act like I already knew/Let me ask you/how long have you known too?/You played it off and acted like he's brand new (Bad News)
You run and tell your friends that you're leaving me/They say that they don't see what you see in me/You wait a couple months then you gon' see/You'll never find nobody better than me... Somewhere far along this road, he lost his soul to a woman so heartless... (Heartless)
Songs About Jane - Maroon 5
Sample lyric:
How dare you say that my behavior is unacceptable/So condescending unnecessarily critical/I have the tendency of getting very physical/So watch your step cause if I do you'll need a miracle (Harder to Breathe)
Yes, Adam Levine has some serious issues with women. Something baaaaaad happened in one of his relationships, in my opinion. And Kanye is working out his issues in musical form. A couple of reviewers have said he sounds like a sad little robot pouring out his heart on his album. It's sort of true. 'Bad News' and 'Street Lights' are the two best examples of that.
