Finally: "i want write a rap song about my girlfriend"
You are a brave man (or woman!). I know if I did this, my girlfriend would probably destroy my iPod and rap cds. So, kudos!
Here's a step-by-step guide to writing a rap song about your girlfriend.
1) Find the right flow for your song. Usually this means emulating a rapper you know pretty well. Why? Because there is NOTHING more embarrassing than listening to someone trying to rap who doesn't have any idea. They usually say something like "Hey yo, I got the flow, yo bro... you know. Yo!" and then they end with their arms crossed and fingers in what they think are gang signs and generally act like they're in an MC Hammer video from 1991 (coincidentally, the last time they watched a rap video). So find a rapper whose flow you can emulate. This will help you find the right rhythm.2) Decide your topic. Will it be a list of the things you love about her? How she makes you feel? What you enjoy about your relationship? A combination? Your choice.
3) Start writing. If you get stuck, look at Rhymezone for help with rhymes. If you can't get past a particular line or verse, consider chopping it completely and saying it in a different way.
4) Edit, edit, edit. You can always take words out to make it better. The sharper it is, the better it will sound.
5) Practice. Depending on how you want to present this to your girlfriend (live performance or recorded), starting practicing to make sure the flow works.
6) Reveal it to your loving girlfriend. Hopefully she will react with joy and pleasure, rather than disgust and shame. It really depends on her view of rap music (and you).
Other things to consider:
- a rapper costume
- getting a friend to beatbox
- framing the lyrics for her
That's it for now! I'm sure I'll get a few other random searches hitting my blog at some point soon!
