Inside Suzanne Rogers' midtown Toronto home, the home looks like spring heaven - thanks to the heady scent of pink hyacinths.
Mrs. Rogers, the wife of Rogers Communications deputy chair Edward Rogers, is also channelling spring in cheerful pastel colors, in a bluish colored Chanel dress and her favorite shade of Estee Lauder Perfect Pink lipstick. Naturally, Mrs. Rogers also favors dramatic looks and frills, bows and ruffles are a common detail. This unabashedly feminine style has made her a fixture in the society pages, poised and posed at charity events in intricate swoops of hand-embroidered silk and other elaborate cocktail dresses. But while the formal dining room we're sitting in may also be upholstered in shades of pink–it's jokingly dubbed 'Suzanne's pink boardroom' — the long list of children's-focused charities Rogers supports with philanthropic planning meetings, held at this very table, take the seat in the front row, so to speak.
I love traditional old world French design in furniture and architecture, I am always inspired by the Ritz in Paris.
I adore this jackets. They are so tough yet so feminine with the crystal bows and crystal details. I love how Balmain does that balance of rocker chic.
These dresses are from my ultimate favorite designer Mary Katrantzou. I love the beautiful original prints; absolute chic, I go crazy for these beautiful details.
She says: "I love fashion" - "But it's not an obsession for me. I'm fortunate that I've got access to it. I do one Paris trip a year and the rest of the time it's day to day life."
The mother of three has two young boys, Jack and Edward, and says that if her eldest, 12-year-old daughter, Chloe, happens to raid her closet, it's not to borrow mom's Louis Vuitton or swipe a Birkin bag but to borrow her sweats. "
She doesn't even know what a Birkin bag is–nor should she, at 12!"
She is a collector of all McQueen. There are many pieces she has that have never been worn and are like pieces of art in her closet that one day will be incredible vintage pieces.
She sayes: "This is one of my most favorite pieces of Chanel; bought for a Chanel runway show in Paris but didn’t end up wearing it. Still have not worn it yet and keeps calling out to me every time I walk past her!"
I love the detail in the knuckle handles with the crystals and skull heads and the distinctive McQueen shape.
