Year One

It's been about a year since I started this blog. That also means a year out of full time work. I've been keeping busy, doing freelance work and other things. They've been fun. But I've been looking for something full time for a while now. Life is boring and restless when you're not consistently employed. When I left my job last year, the Federal Government was planning to slow down the economy because it was "growing too fast" or something. We had record employment levels. Jobs were everywhere.

A lot has changed in a year.

I wrote some blog posts. Here are some of my favourites.

- If Mythical Creatures Existed: Mermaids. In which I discuss the existence of mermaids.

- One of the most sellable newspaper stories ever. You've got to expect that from The Sun though.

- I am not the first king of controversy. In which I discuss controversial ideas.

- ...And all those left behind Vol. III. An attempt at trying to create a tone. I don't know how successful it was, but I liked it, and I liked writing it. And given that this blog is mostly an outlet for me and my brain, I enjoyed putting it out there.

- 'Olympic Badass' by Eamon Sullivan. Not really as topical anymore, but lots of fun to write. Probably the best rap song I've ever written (from a field of one).

- A list of wedding ideas. In which I list some useful ideas if you are planning a wedding ceremony.

- What are you doing at the moment? Five types of Facebook updaters.

- I believe in Harvey Dent. This was one of my favourite ever posts. It took a lot of thinking to get out what I wanted to get onto the page. Analysing the themes in The Dark Knight was a tough, fun, intriguing exercise. That film gave me a lot to think about.

- A post about doing the biz. An issue close to my heart.

- Videos of Israel bombing Palestinians. In which I justify Israel's decision to bomb Palestine.

- A post about meaningful music. In which I quote from artists who have something important to say.

- Recommended viewing. A list of good television shows you might enjoy checking out.

- Why a thick skin is useful. Something everyone should aim to develop at some point.

- A post about happiness. In which I give some clues to reaching happiness.

- A list of actors I associate with one role. This was a lot of fun too, and people added more in the comments.

- A sad loss. In which I bemoan the lack of passion for democracy among Western youth.

- The Rise of TMI. In which I discuss the oversharing on Facebook.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed reading. I intend to continue writing.
