Two contrasting styles. The old school of Jay-Z. The new school of Kanye West and his disciples.Jay has come out with his new song 'D.O.A (Death Of Autotune)', produced by No.I.D. He is a very old school producer, who has a talent for using single instruments to form the hook and music for his songs. He was Kanye's mentor, and you can see his influence in early Kanye tracks like "03 Bonnie and Clyde".Kanye, on the other hand, has moved in a different direction. He has been spearheading the use of Autotune in rap songs, making them sound like sing-song robots. Mr Hudson is a British singer who has signed to Kanye's G.O.O.D Music label. His new song Supernova is very catchy, in an English kind of way (you can hear his accent in the line "having tons of fun").
Kanye is producing Jay's new album, The Blueprint III. It could be a massive clash of styles. Or... it might work for them. Either way, I'm hanging out for it.
