Why we cannot eat in class

So it went like this. We were creating a model of the Greenhouse effect using plastic bottles as an outdoor science prac. Most of us chilled for the majority of the time since we only really needed a time-keeper and someone to record the temperature. By 'chilled' I mean attacking each other with dandelions, walking into mud, sliding down the handrail of the stairs, tieing each others hair with yellow ribbon, laughing hysterically and attempting to catch mints using our mouths.

And we got caught. Since we ate "one mint each" we had to see the teacher at lunch for "one minute." We spent the next lesson thinking "We're gonna be those rebel kids in front of the science staffroom" and "What if he comes out with a clipboard to write something on our behaviour record?" But what the teacher said to us during that one minute was even less expected than when the other teacher came out of no where simply because she was distracted by the yellow ribbon on some guy's hair.

Teacher: Did any of you handle the sand we used for the model?
Us: No.. No.. Yes, I think...
Teacher: Well, there is a certain chemical in that sand which causes constipation. Do you know what constipation is?
Us: Yes
Teacher: Well you must have used your hands to have eaten the food. Have you heard of yoga? There are certain types of yoga activities which help constipation. I highly recommend you to do it. So no eating in class. Oh, and good luck.

Oh what the hell. Is this dude serious, or am I really that gullible?

Anyway, we celebrated Daffodil Day today! The SRCs worked from 8am up until 11 sorting out the flowers and delivering them to classes while jamming to music played on the radio. It was way harder than I thought to organise Daffodil Day. It was even harder because most of us were starving ourselves to finish tying messages onto daffodils while the teachers had their fancy pancy morning tea. My friend Cindy also made these AWESOME yellow super-hero masks. It was cool seeing the school lightened with so much yellow- it's so much better than our typical grey-blue colour!

Thanks to Danielle, Matthew, Elizabeth, Sylvia, Chad, Charley, Jandy and whoever 'Random Acts' is for the flowers. :)
