Soul Calibur V is back on my hot list!

The character creator in SCIV was pretty good, but this one adds the kind of features that really get me excited to see what I can make.


With these tools you should be able to re-create most any  famous characters although the facial feature portion still isn't as robust as some other games.

Hope they soon reveal how and if the PS3 and Vita versions will work with each other.

Side Gig for Soul Calibur's Taki

The Queen's Gate PSP game was released this past July/Aug. A domestic release is highly unlikelyso if you want to check out some Namco characters in um...interesting situations, you can check out this trailer for a small taste, or you can check out the role playing books.

A book for Ivy was released a while back and now Taki gets her turn.

The Queen's Gate/Blade books are pretty filthy without showing outright nudity. These shots shown here courtesy of Moeyo are about as clean as I feel comfortable posting.

Soul Calibur V Heating Up

I haven't been keeping up with the many Soul Calibur V reveals, but ran into these two latest images and wanted to share.

Both characters are receiving tweaked outfits and so far I approve. I'm probably sounding like a broken record, but I really hope they make this for Vita with some save transfer ability to the PS3 version.

I'll start digging around for more interesting Soul Calibur V asap.

E3 Costume Watch

I skipped Ninja Gaiden 2 mainly because the gore was a bit too much for me. That aspect appears considerably toned down in the E3 videos of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 I’ve seen. The likelihood of a purchase increased with the news that fan favorite Rachel (and by fan I mean me) would be joining the previously announced Ayane and Momiji (from the DS NG game). I’m guessing Sonia is still in the game since that would alter the storyline.

Rachel’s outfit looks pretty much the same. Only her axe weapon thing received a makeover.

Momiji’s outfit has very strong Kasumi 2P costume influences. It fails if you look at every little costume detail, but I’m okay with it taken as a whole. She really needs an alternate outfit that is more ninja-ish.

Ayane exposes a lot more flesh and gets the requisite random pieces of metal that Ninja Gaiden costumes must have. It lacks elegance and subtlety. Wins minor points for sexiness.

The prospects of picking up Soul Calibur PSP, and also an actual PSP, also increased with the reveal that Kratos is in the game. I actually fired up Soul Calibur IV on the 360 the other night and totally forgot about all those “guest” characters that were included. Will they also be in the PSP version? Yoda and Darth Vader are almost certainly out.
