This would have to be one of my favourite floral prints from Bonpoint - their Flowered story, with contrasting darker and lighter prints.

Easter Bonnet Time!

It's that time of year - Easter parade at school and time to construct that flamboyant monstrosity that we know as an Easter bonnet. I have fond memories of my mother & nonna creating wacky and way out creations for my school parade and had wondered how I would ever measure up when the time came for the baton to be passed to me and the responsibility now on my shoulders to come up with a work of art worthy of comparison. Luckily for me, Gigi's school likes to encourage the children's creativity and hence we only need to provide the materials and they are involved in the construction of their own hats. Phew, big sigh of relief. For those of you that have been lumbered with the task of DIY Easter bonnets, I have found some really cute websites and blogs to help you with some ideas. Whether you prefer layers of tulle and silk flowers, paper mache eggs and tiny yellow fluffy chickens, or more simply a paper plate tied with ribbon and decorated with pipe cleaners, left over Christmas tinsel and crepe paper, there is something for everyone at a cute little blog called Easter Bonnets on Parade. Other sites you way want to check out include Easter Craft, Decorative Packaging Blog and I also found a more modern take on an Easter bonnet on Boo5's blog - an Easter Fascinator. You could even put it away and bring it out again on Melbourne Cup Day! Happy hat making xox

Eco Princess Style - Think Green Kids Tee by Revenge Is...

Soleil Moon Frye, co-owner of The Little Seed, an environmentally friendly children's boutique, was seen in LA with daughters Poet & Jagger this past week, Poet wearing a really groovy Think Green Kids Tee by Revenge Is.. I found it through Inhabitots which is a really cool website whose mission is "sustainable design for the next generation" and they are a great source of information for environmentally aware parents. I look forward to having a better look through their site when I have some spare time. Being eco friendly should be at the top of our lists as parents of the future generations, who will likely be most affected by the choices we make today

UPDATE: Thanks Stardust, the pink ballet flats are actually from Seed and not Monsoon as I mentioned previously - Katie Holmes is a fan of Seed, having shopped up a storm in the Australian boutique this week so no doubt we will see Suri wearing some more of their collection during her stay here in Australia. I am a big fan of Seed and Stardust, though I agree they are a very close match for the Monsoon pair, in fashion there are, and will always be designs with similar styles and construction and Seed wouldn't be the first label to be accused of having something similar to another label. Check out my Clone Zone category, you will see what I mean

3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2009 at Barneys New York

I am a big fan of this designer - 3.1 Phillip Lim has some beautiful looks in his Spring 2009 collection at Barneys New York. They don't stock the Tank Dress with Lace in Sand at Barneys, but you can see it on the 3.1 Phillip Lim website - a gorgeous, simplistic little dress in a neutral colour for your little princess. And I also love the Hooded Rain Slicker in Navy - looks like a mini version of a grown up trench coat. So many fashions, so little time : )

Online Boutique Critique - Punk-N-Pie - Sweet tHreads for Little Punks

While sourcing the cute drum kit t-shirt worn by Coco Arquette, I have stumbled upon funky kids online boutique Punk-N-Pie. Now you know I am always on the look out for beautiful little fashions and accessories for little princesses, but in this case I have found some cool stuff for beautiful little rock princesses! Coco is wearing the Jeeto Band T (currently only available in Black) but you can get the pink version for your mini groupies in a Jeeto Band Onesie. Another fave of mine is the tshirt that says: "I am at Peace with Being a Princess" - so cute!

With their self professed "modern vintage look", I am loving Hucklebones London and their gorgeous children's wear. And best of all - they are on sale! My personal favourites: the Organza Pleated Bib Blouse and the Gingham Handkerchief Dress. Definitely worth a look

On a recent shopping trip to children's boutique Bundle in Soho, New York City, Nicole Kidman picked up some delightful little dresses for baby daughter Sunday Rose, who turned one on July 7.
Amongst her purchases were the following lovely items:

Missoni Puffa Coat with signature zig zag detail - a must for your little freezing fashionista

I have always loved the abstract colour combinations & amazing geometric prints that Missoni is renowned for. Zig zag is a hard print to wear at the best of times, however the Missoni family always manages to design flattering collections in the most beautiful fabrics. I also love smocking, especially on little girls dresses and shirts so when I came across this girls Missoni Puffa Coat, I instantly fell in love with the zig zag stitching and hot pink colour. Reminiscent of the smocked detailing that Missoni does so well. Another great find from one of my new favourite online boutiques - Children's Salon. I HEART J Crew crewcuts Spring/Summer 2009

In the days following the US Presidential Inauguration, the JCrew website crashed. Why? Because once it was revealed that the First Children, Malia & Sasha Obama were dressed in JCrew, everyone wanted a coat just like the ones worn by the sisters. After looking over their newly released Spring/Summer 2009 line, I can find several other reasons to dress my princesses in JCrew. Here are a couple of my faves - the Silk Taffeta Tiffany Flower Girl Dress and the Posy Chino Jacket in Tea Rose colour.
