MARIAH CAREY GAVE BIRTH TO TWINS!

The babies have finally arrived! Mariah Carey gave birth to boy/girl twins on Saturday, April 30 at 12:07 p.m. ET.

Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are proud parents of twins (one girl and one boy), after the mega star gave birth on the couple’s wedding anniversary. A spokesperson for the couple said they are ‘overjoyed’ at the tiny new arrivals, which weighed in at 5 lbs. 3 oz and 5 lbs. 6 oz respectively.

"My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life," Cannon tweeted on Saturday. "I won't ever be able to top this!"

Speaking of the birth, Mariah’s PR representative Cindi Berger said: ‘Nick was very nervous and Mariah was completely calm. Mariah thought it was another soft labour and Nick was driving her to the hospital and she very calm and the music was blasting.’ Cindy also revealed Mariah was listening to her own track, We Belong Together, as the tiny tots were born.

Mariah and Nick have named their son Moroccan Scott Cannon, and his nickname is to be 'Roc'. Scott is Nick Cannon's middle name as well as his grandmother's maiden name.

If you are wondering what inspired the name 'Moroccan', the top tier of Mariah Carey's New York apartment is called the 'Moroccan room' because of it's Moroccan-inspired theme. It is also where Nick proposed to Mariah in 2007.

Mariah has named her daughter Monroe Cannon, after screen legend Marilyn Monroe who Mariah has always admired. In fact she bought Marilyn's white piano in an auction in Christie's to pay further homage to the Hollywood icon.

Like many celebs, Mariah and Nick announced the birth and thanked their fans via twitter. 'I wish I could personally thank all those around the world who continue 2 send congrats+prayers for #dembabies!they're doing great,' Mariah wrote.
