what i find interesting is that the american x factor 2011 seems to run around the same time as the uk x factor 2011 will run, so how will simon cowell judge both shows?, or will there be a change in the judging with simon cowell not judging next years uk x factor 2011?, will simon cowell just judge the us version of x factor 2011 instead?.
i wonder how many americans will apply to audition on the american x factor 2011, if it is 100 of thoushands in the uk, with america being bigger will they have millions audition to be on the american x factor 2011?.
not sure how to apply for the american x factor 2011 or where you would get application forms for american x factor 2011, i guess if it is like uk x factor then it would be on the fox tv website, though they probably have not put up american x factor 2011 application forms yet, until they do a extensive tv advertising campaign on fox in america.
my guess is that the american x factor 2011 audition application forms will be made available on the fox website in similar fashion to how the uk x factor application forms are on the itv website.
what to look forward with us x factor show in 2011, ant actually sounds quite good as well.

The American version of The X Factor is scheduled to premiere in September 2011[1] on Fox. The program will be produced by its creator Simon Cowell and his company Syco TV.[2] The format of the show differs from its rivals such as Idol as the judges act as mentors of the final contestants. Each judge is assigned categories that they reduce to the finalists at the latter stage of the audition process. Through the live shows the judges act as mentors to the contestants helping decide song choices and styling. The judge also judges the other contestants from the other categories.
Pre-production
In April 2009 reports surfaced that Cowell was attempting to launch The X Factor in America after his contract ends with American Idol with the ninth season.[3] Under the current contract, Cowell is forbidden from launching The X Factor as a rival show to Idol.[3] In summer 2009 reports surfaced that the American version would launch on NBC, the same broadcaster that airs America's Got Talent.[4][5][6] In September of that year Fox, the broadcaster of American Idol, was reportedly close to signing a deal to launch the American version with the condition Cowell also returns as a judge for the tenth and eleventh seasons of American Idol.[6]
On January 11, 2010 News Corporation (through Fox News in the US and The Times in the UK) reported that Cowell will leave American Idol after season 9 so he can bring The X Factor to the United States in September 2011. Cowell, whose contract with American Idol expired in May 2010, became the second judge to exit the series, following Paula Abdul who announced her departure in August 2009 after eight seasons.[7] Cowell told the Television Critics Association that he was leaving American Idol so that in 2011 he can judge and act as executive producer of the US version of X Factor.[8] British X Factor host Dermot O'Leary is in the running to become the American host.[9] At that time new American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres was the first judge to comment publicly about Cowell leaving: "I'm trying not to take it personally. He wanted a change and I wish [him] all the luck in the world."[10] Additionally, Cowell signed a long-term business deal with Sony who already support Syco Music artists in the UK and will now be involved with the artists on the U.S. version of the show as well as becoming involved in the production of the show.[2]
The first ever promotional clip[11] will be aired on FOX around the end of November 2010, nearly 9 months before the premiere in September 2011.
Judges
At the time of announcing the U.S. version, Cowell was the only confirmed judge for the show.[12] Although soon after, speculation had already began as to who might be joining him on the panel. His former American Idol colleague Paula Abdul, was quickly linked to the role, as were his colleagues from the British X Factor, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole.[4][5][6] In January 2010, Cowell spoke to The New York Post about his new show. In the interview he did not confirm any of the new judges but said that Cole would be good addition to the show, "I think she would be great over here - Cheryl's a star." However, he did confirm that he was taking the choices of who to join him on the show very seriously. "It's pointless hiring judges who don't know anything about the music business. I'll probably go and find someone who did what I did for a living. I was an A&R guy for 20 years."[13] On January 19, 2010 Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent judge, Piers Morgan, expressed his interest to join the show. "I would love to work with Simon on it as we have a laugh on Britain's Got Talent." He said regardless of who's on the panel he was confident that the show would be "huge" in the United States and that it was time for him and Cowell to be on the same judging panel in the United States.[14]
Cowell expressed an interest in approaching Tommy Mottola, the former head of Sony Music Entertainment, (ex-husband of and the man who discovered Mariah Carey). He describing Mottola as "knowing what's he's talking about" as well as being "very flamboyant." When asked about the possibility of working with Abdul, he refused to confirm or deny whether she would be involved in the show. Instead he said, "I've been talking to Paula for a long time. It was always my intention in one way or another to carry on working with her." He also commented that its "important for it to be different. There are going to be some big changes."[13] Just days after Cowell's comments about Mottla to The New York Post another U.S. publication, People magazine, reported that Mottola was in talks with Fox about a role on the show as well as taking over Cowell's job on American Idol. However Fox executives were quick to point out that although talks had begun about both roles, a decision would be made in good time especially for Idol.[15]
Since then Cowell has indicated interest in a number of stars joing the show as have celebrities themselves. At the end of January 2010, The Sun reported that Cowell wanted American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga to have a non-judging role on the show.[16] Closer magazine reported that Mel B (formerly of the Spice Girls) expressed interest in a judging role on the show after previously being linked to a role on the UK version[17] while American R&B singer Kelly Rowland revealed that she'd met with Cowell on several occasions about possibly becoming a judge on the talent show.[18] Media reports were tipping couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony as possible choices for their appeal to the "Latin" and "International" markets,[19] but this was ruled out in September 2010 when Lopez accepted a role on season ten of American Idol despite being offered roles on both shows.[20] Cowell's close friend Sinitta, confirmed lots of people had expressed interest in the show including Mariah Carey.[21]
From September 2010 the media reported that producers and Cowell were impressed by Katy Perry and Nicole Scherzinger, after both had appeared as guest judges during the audition stages of the competition of the seventh series of The X Factor (UK).[22] Scherzinger became a strong candidate after she was invited back to The X Factor (UK) when she was also asked to fill in at bootcamp.[23] However Cowell has since said that as of October 2010 no one is confirmed to judge or host the show except himself.[24]
On the 21st of November Cowell stated that he would be announcing the judges in the next 3-4 weeks.[25]
