I fall in love with Giambattista Valli’s first couture collection for fall 2011. Valli’s clothes are made of sensual pleasures, and floaty and flyway dresses, combined with animal-printed lines and monochrome florals. He celebrated the past when he used the white poplin shirtdress, and the way he layered a black lamé tweed skirt over the "blouse." But if that combination of casual and couture felt like essential Valli, there were many more examples of the designer's ability to meld formality. Stunning collection!
