This article, from Mirande Devine (in The Age of all places), explains why there is so much hatred towards Sarah Palin. It articulates what I've been thinking (without knowing how to put it in words). Basically it comes down to this: Palin, with the kids, the career, the husband, the looks, the success... makes women feel inadequate. US "comedienne" ( I use the term loosely) Sandra Bernhard said this on YouTube about Palin:

"[she is a] turncoat bitch [and] Uncle Woman … who jumps out of the shed and points her fingers at other women … You whore in your cheap f--king … cheap-ass plastic glasses and your hair all up. [You'll get] a bikini-waxed fresh Jewish t--t in your face."

The article goes on to make some points about a powerful pro-Abortion lobby group that includes the majority of women in the Victorian Labor government. But anyway, that article made me realise why the worst sexually violent comments directed towards Palin have come from women. Cos it's just like high school! And the pretty girl has everything! And I never got over it!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAH!!! And I'm 39!!!

Onto something completely different:

That's John Legend doing a fantastic cover of U2's 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)'. It's truly good. I think they're using it for Martin Luther King Day in America or something?? I don't know. Either way, it is well well well worth a listen. Legend interprets the song, rather than just covering it.
